Thread: Stargate Universe

Just watched ep 1 & 2. I know a few others have had a look - what's the consensus? I'm hesitant to say the season will be good, or even if I thought what I saw so far.

But, the premiere ended with a cliffhanger, and I am hanging out for the next episode. I guess that's a start, and I guess that means I liked it.

It's definitely better than Atlantis in my opinion (which I didn't bother with).

Throughout the whole series I was cheering for Elizabeth Weir to die. Seriously that women has no balls as a commander.

Thank god shes currently trapped in a vac-um frozen for all eternity. Seems like a fitting end for such a crappy character.

Now for Captain Janeway she would rip your ball off and shove them down your throat. Just like a sci-Fi main leading commander should act.

atlantis was ****ing awesome - you missed out rec. Weir was the only weak point of that show (apart from when they had Samantha Carter as a ring-in (so sick of her too)).

Atlantis' stories were really well put together - was just a shame they had to resort to replicators again as a villain, though i think they vindicated themselves there with the Asgaardians that showed up near the end.

Liking SGU so far tho my wife isnt a fan (she misses Shepherd and the Wraith). But i have to say the new crew is ****ing dumb. They have a button they need to push to close a door sealing a damaged shuttle, but if they push the button they get trapped in the shuttle which is venting atmosphere - their only solution is that someone has to die to shut the door?! despite the fact they just found those cool radio control orbs with cameras?? ffs duct tape a pencil to one and use that to push the button

Yeah I thought of that as well... but I tried not to think about it to much. "Surely that crossed their minds but is for some reason impractical", I told myself.

I might revisit Atlantis based on your recommendation, but if it's as shit as I remember, I'm going to find you, and stab you.

hehe she's hawt! everyone else wanted Inara or River.. I would've taken kaylee over them any day ;P

dont quite know what to think of universe so far, alot of it just wasn't making sense, like the door example above. and little things like the whole video game thing seemed like it was taken from some b grade movie plot ive seen before. not really a fan of the fat kid either.

really liking the dr rush character though, and the ship looks awesome
