    i7-870 - Happy as.

I must admit that I really haven't had the chance to play with too many i7/i5/i3 machines as just about everything machine that comes in for repair or new builds are 775's.

But today I took the plunge and upgrade to i7-870 and fuck I am impressed both price performance wise. Most web sites will show these out performing a i7-930 and they use socket 1156 so something to look out for on your next upgrade venture.

Yeah I love my i5 can handle everything I throw at it and is a great CPU for overclocking.... but the line up has much improved since I got that at the start of the year.

The 1156 socket isnt good for future proofing but if you want a good budget system to work with. yeah its a good choice

Same here, my old pent D system was going to take 15 hrs to encode a dvd, so I got my I5 920 to do the same job and was completed in 35 minutes - Very happy I am.

When I updated my laptop from dual core 2.5 to Core i7 720QM (I think 1.6 or 1.8 quad)... I love the boost feature, seems every game i've played I've seen better performance.
