    Junction link

More of a sticky note for future reference for myself rather than a post.

No build in symlink for xp.

    Junction v1.05

Cut out out "battlefield bad company 2" from steamapps\common. Backup somewhere safe, make a copy on raptor (d).

    cmd>e:\steam\steamapps\common > md "battlefield bad company 2"

    junction -s "e:\steam\steamapps\common\battlefield bad company 2" "d:\battlefield bad company 2"

If it's broken I've screwed up probably on the last step because I closed my shell window too early.

    Will need:
    "junction -d "e:\steam\steamapps\common\battlefield bad company 2"

Note: If you delete the folder in steamapps it'll delete the linked copy on D:

For those reading, this might get some extra performance instead of running bc2 off the WDBlack, just need to test it.

    Re: Junction link

Was looking at using ntfs junctions to shift my steam folder off my ssd while still having a few games on the ssd.
