Thread: Killzone 2 reviews (lots of pics)

Played the first mission of single player, had a really really good intro that set the tone, mission starts off where the demo started. I started it on the difficulty just above normal (veteran I think) and its actually hard. Not COD4 hard where they grenade spam they just seem a bit smarter/tougher.

The helghast actually try flank you and get in close and use the occasional grenade. You can't just run out or stuff up often. The enemy will blind fire over cover and will try to push you from your cover. They will actually fight your team mates as well rather then auto targeting you. Teammate AI is useful without being too good and it all adds up to one of the most immersive fps games I have played. Its not breaking grounds with script though, typical soldier stuff but good enough to be funny and give your team mates a personality.

I have played 3 rounds of multiplayer, its hard to put it against another game, defently not cod type gameplay. It seems a mix of TF2 with classes but more in depth with the ability to level and mix class abilities up. Gameplay is slower paced with a more tactical feel to it. So far the 3 maps I played on were both great in graphics and atmosphere and seemed to have a very good layout to them. All seem to be big maps as well. The multiplayer game play is pretty much some of the best out there for an fps game, better then cod4's and for me at least more interesting then TF2. . If you like twitch/arcade based games like UT or Resistance this might not be your thing. Ohh there is a squad system where you can spawn on the leader.

Also I want to say again the maps are just ****ing insane for a multiplayer game. One has a nuke that went off in the background and the map is currently in the fallout from the nuke it looks so good .

Graphics are great, sound and music are all great. The controls you will either love or hate though, they have weight to them so you move around a lot slower then most fps games. They are a bit faster in multiplayer though. If your into competitive gaming it offers heaps of clan stuff as well .

Back to playing, need to decide if I want to play the 2nd mission or more multiplayer >_<

Hm... Killzone 2 + Metal Gear Solid 4 + LittleBigPlanet... the PS3 is finally a console worth owning, it seems.

Omg the single player keeps getting better and better. Some parts are bloody hard though . and fighting in the stratosphere is epic.

damnit, somebody get Tachi a towel before he floods this side of Palmy with his man-juices ;P
