    Steering wheels(Logitech Driving Force Pro Vs Logitech Driving Force GT)

    For the past couple days I have been sick, so I can't go to a store to check them out.

    Currently I use my old Logitech Force with GT5rologue, but I think it's time to upgrade to a better steering wheel.

    Now both of them can do 900 degree turn, and both can be used in GT5.

    So what do you guys recommend??

    I think both are equal on price.

    PS. While ideally it would be good to get the G25, I don't want to spend that much money, so please don't bother saying G25.

    I know you don't want to hear it, but really there's no substitute for the G25. Everything from the pedal box to the external gear selector (with H shift) to the stearing wheel is significantly better then anything else on the market at that point. And if you're able to, the whole kit is available online for about 330 down south, which is a lot cheaper then in store up here. It's still a lot of money, but you get something significantly good, and I can confirm it works with Prologue, and it works well.

    Otherwise the momo one is apparently very good, though if it's PS3, the Driving Force Pro would be good too.

    AFAIK the Pro is discontinued, and the GT is its successor. The Pro was GT4's official wheel, and the GT is set to be GT5's official wheel, so that's probably what I'd go for.

    The advantage of the Pro over the G25 is the fact it can lock at smaller degrees of rotation (great for games like Formula 1 where 900 degrees isn't required, and saves you over-turning in vein). I'm not sure if the GT locks, though - I haven't really done any research. You'll also notice on the G25 that the stick-shift feels tacky; like cheap plastic that could break at any moment... I don't even feel comfortable stick-shifting because it feels like a toy. Sequential or paddle shifting is much better.

    I personally would be willing to sacrafice the G25's seperate shifter and clutch for the low-degree lock on the Pro, as I'd put a lot of time into F1:CE if I had a racing wheel. So I guess what I'm saying is that I'd buy a Pro over the G25, and if the GT locks, I'd buy that over the G25 too.

    Here's a good price on a second hand Pro, and they're in Adelaide so you can pick it up...

    G25 has degree lock as well. Force feedback is dual driven too, I don't believe the GT is according to the specs (accurate and more realistic force feedback.

    Any tips on how to degree lock the wheel? No one on the Playstations forums knew how.

    I think you'll find it's only lockable via Logitech software on a PC platform, and isn't possible when plugged into a PS3.

    Haven't really tried it much on the PS3. I'd say there'll probably be an update soon enough though.

    Both the G25 and PS3 have been out over a year. If anything, games may offer specific support for it enabling such locking functionality, but not a single driving game on the PS3 has yet.

    Ie; buy a Pro (or GT if it has locking functionality akin to the Pro's).

    How does the G25 go for PC? Im looking at getting one. Also the shifter cant be modded to feel less shitty.

    Sorry off topic but seriously get a G25, I got mine for $280 off ebay, and the lack of locking with the PS3 is not an issue.

    Well DSE catalogue has the g25 for $298. So rec you think the gt would be a better buy?
