Thread: PS3's and Internet Connection Speed

What internet speed do people here have for playing online with their PS3; in particular Tekken DR Online???

I have a 1.5M and it lags!!!

So I thought I should ask before I upgrade to 8Mbps or change service providers.

Where are the people that you are playing located?

So far agains't one person from Italy and UK

that would be your problem.

Any game where you are playing against anyone from another continent/country will lag. Since tekken is a frame-counting game, it will be ridicously laggy.

I have an 8mps account and it makes no difference. As said it depends on where your opponents live.

i have an adsl2 connection connected at 24mbs, even when i go against an aussie it still lags like hell. mainly due to servers being located in europe =/, if you want to reduce this purchase a Tekken DR account from a US PSN site.

Except the game is hosted p2p, so I don't know what drugs your are on.

Bandwidth != Latency.

lol, it's the same with Xbox Live. All of the ac**** details etc are hosted in the US but if you are hosting a match with your mates and an American comes in and decides to play, things can get quite laggy for them and vice versa if they're hosting. Or for short "Xbox Live games (with the exception of Frontlines: Fuel of War) and PSN games are somewhat P2P.

Meh GT5 P's online is bad, at the pre match bit where the ai drives your car around, some cars spawned in and colided with half the players then match started and I got to start of in the ****ing grass .

Then theres the fact that if I bump a car it does nothing to the car and I get a penalty (fair enough), But when cars bump into my car theres a good chance it will go spinning off the track then give me a penalty, then give me a shortcut penalty for driving back onto the track :/

Resistance fall of man is a good example of what console multiplayer games should be like.
