No skid marks in GT:HD or GT5.

Beyond that though, my biggest gripe is the absolutely appauling collisions engine and net code... both need to be put down in the same fashion you would a violent dog. Disgraceful.

The cars are gorgeous, the tracks look good, the racing itself feels great... just don't try to lay some rubber, play online or think about making contact with another car, because you'll feel bitterly dissapointed.

Play online? You mean with the cars that disapear across the track as if you were leeching porn while on dial-up? Don't bother. You can't even voice-chat or create private Australian race rooms yet it seems. Euro server only.

Quite frankly, as beautiful as it is, I'm content with Forza 2 until GT5 actually hits shelves in 2009. And even then I'll be sure to play it a bit first before making an impulse purchase and finding out the things that are important to me are still shit (collisions system/netcode).

Apparently the servers are being hammered and have gone down multiple times (like now), might be why it was lagging for ya . At least you got to try it

Not mine - girlfriend's brother's. The wheel retails for about $500 (Logitech G25), but can be picked up for $300 via Ebay. Leather wheel, stick-shift, paddle shifts, plates with clutch - cainer setup!

The seat was a cheapy, about $250, but is fine enough, apart from some stability issues. For a good game racing seat (extremely hard to find anywhere in AU), you're looking at about $750.
