How long does it take to get a ticket from a speed camera van?

I'am really getting sick of them, i drive around alot during the day and its not hard to go over by 5 - 10 km's/h and always when you go over abit theres one on the side of the road infront of you.


i still think they are great but they pick on the wrong sort of people.


it has been 2 weeks since i reckon i got done and im waiting still.....

Then you didn't get done. Usually it's about 7 days from my experience. I might add. I've only received one ticket way back in the early days (before points), but at the work place we get people receiving them occasionally. (about 1 every two or three months).

Most speedo's are out by 5-7km's so you were probably doing the right speed.

Korny I was told by a cop mate that the vans are also used as scare tactics, so they are not "Always" armed. So chances are you didn't get done or it was un-manned.

Also There is a leeway of 5% or something along those lines because of what Evil said. Also if your car is modified as in, Bigger or smaller wheels then stock, that will throw out your speedo too.

When you get a ticket, I've been told the speed shown is adjusted down to allow for the 5km/h compensation.

Its also a psychological thing, if you can get your speedo calibrated to show 5km/h faster than what you are doing then you will never get a ticket because youd need to go 10km/h over on your speedo.

Even if its in daylight, the cameras they use also flash when they take a photo. so no flash, no ticket.

Ive only ever gotten one and it took a month to get to me. I find Police stuff generally takes a month to process

so, you always speed, and you get tickets. i see an easy fix here.

lol bullshit phen. Unless the operator is setting up, you can consider the van to be in operation.
