Amazon... WTF?!?!

Ok, I ordered the following books from Amazon.com

"Refactoring: Improving the Design of Existing Code (The Addison-Wesley Object Technology Series)"
Martin Fowler; Hardcover; $47.99

"Test Driven Development: By Example (The Addison-Wesley Signature Series)"
Kent Beck; Paperback; $37.00

"Godel, Escher, Bach: An Eternal Golden Braid"
Douglas R. Hofstadter; Paperback; $15.61

"I Am a Strange Loop"
Douglas R. Hofstadter; Hardcover; $16.17

"Software Requirements, Second Edition"
Karl E. Wiegers; Paperback; $26.39

"Working Daze: Managers and other unnatural disasters"
Zakour; Paperback; $9.95
And was offered a free, 20-issue subscription to:
Us Magazine.

While I am aware this is an automated system, and thus not blessed with anything above a rather modest approximation of intelligence (and in this instance, not even that) - this is still rather special....

Why would a man ordering a selection of computing books want a subscription to a womans mag... The mind boggles.

Have any of you received absurd offers from automated systems?

so you are complaining about a FREE, non compolsury magazine subscription that was more than likely offered to everyone who spent x amount of dollars?

Not so much complaining, as I am laughing at how badly off-target this offer has landed.

I don't know, offering hardcore geeks free subscriptions to magazines full of hot semi-naked women doesn't indicate that their marketing demographics are that bad.
