Imported beers
Hey guys, did anyone watch the ACA last night about the supposed imported beers, that are actually produced here in Australia, mostly in Victoria and South Australia.
Beers like Stella Artois Heineken Becks Guiness CarlsBerg Kuiri??(Japanese style beer) I hope I got the names right, if not, meh. What really pissed me off, is the fact, that they are produced locally, yet we still have to pay a lot more to drink them.

i knew stella, hiene and becks were done in SA. I'm surprise that the market is large enough to make guiness and the jap one here. I think I've seen one guiness ever been ordered in a round, and it turned out to be calton black on tap. :P

If the label says "Product of Australia" they are made here. Maybe rec can answer that one, if of course he has a stella close by.
Maybe they have to bring the glass from belgium, to make it a bit more expensive.

Not suprising at all that they're brewed here. Not suprising at all that we still pay import prices for them either.
There's just way too many shitty, mainstream, over-marketed, over-priced beers on the shelves that are made out to be something they're not. But your general consumer thinks these are premium items, and will happily pay a premium price for it in a deluded state of self-worth if they have a case of Corona in the fridge instead of Carlton Draught. You know the people I hate most? The people that go to an import beer cafe, and buy Stella. You fools. Anyway, enough of where this rant is going. :P When I'm not drinking ACTUAL quality imports (Rochefort, St. Bernardus, Chimay, La Chouffe etc), I'll go grab myself a case of Little Creatures, Coopers or James Squires. Better tasting than all of the aforementioned shitty beers, and almost always cheaper.
