Well, after 14 years of driving, it finally happened.

Some asshat rear-ended me, some twit in a done up (or in the process of being done-up) skyline. I think.

anyhoo It was at the Service station on the corner of Bagot and Stuart Highway - near the flyover. I was slowing down and indicating to go into the servo. saw this stupid maroon car get suddenly bigger in my rear-view and had enough time to say 'F*&@"

end result:

one pushed in rear-end, a boot that won't close and a rear right tyre that will scrape if i go around left corners too fast (its 4 wheel steering, so the front and rear wheel turn). I'm hoping to god the bastard has insurance.

All this 4 days before I get Married... I need this like a hole in the head.

*sigh*

I almost got rear ended the other day, some P plater going to fast in the rain and not being able to stop in time, thankfully he drove off the road into the dirt.

That's what I'm afraid of, if he has insurance it will all be cool. If not, I'm not even too sure if the car is worth the repairs that need to be done. I've spent a fair bit on it now on just repairs (problem with having a 4 wheel steering car that was only made for about a year or so)

See how it goes, if he doesnt have insurance, as long as you do it will get fixed and they'll just chase him for the cash. If not probably time to go to one of those free legal aid places and find out where you stand.

just make a report and hand to your insurance, get 3 quotes, get repaired and they will chace payment

amazing how it happens tho....about a month out from my wedding my missus rear ended someone and i was all of a sudden the proud owner of a written off busted ass corolla

Also if someone hits the back of you its ALWAYS their fault. I had someone cut across about half a car length in front of me and then slam her foot on the brake and I still had to foot the bill - so you should have no hassle getting money of them.

Which is also the advantage to not sitting right up someones ass at the lights.

Even if he isn't covered, as long as you are he has to pay for it no matter what, its his fault, and if he can afford a fully sik skyline yeleh he should have enough cash to fix what damage he did :P
