God those stock-standard Hori buttons are absolute rubbish. Very happy that I've got a set of Sanwa's on the way. Ordered a cool white-mesh ball-top today too, and a couple of button-plugs ... after last night's session, I think taking those two end buttons out will help me a heap.

I thought I'd post this here too - a stick run-down by a hardcore player that I found interesting...

Good sticks. All of these joysticks kick ass and chew bubblegum for fighting games
  • Seimitsu LS-32 (best stock joystick ever. great for everything. only flaws are that the gates are not very sturdy)
  • Seimitsu LS-33 (too light spring but that can be easily remedied by putting in an LS-55/56 spring. With spring mod, probably my favorite joystick. Is compatible and works great with the LS-56's octagonal gate)
  • Sanwa JLF (default in most HRAP) sucks for all non fighting games and games that require a quick return to neutral like Mahvul though. Its octagonal gate is really shitty. The Flash is just a JLF with optical sensors instead of microswitches.
  • Taeyoung Fanta. has to be broken in and sucks for non fighting games. If you want the "best" stick for 3d fighters, this is it.
  • IL Eurojoystick. super sturdy. The only flaws are that the stock spring causes the joystick to refract, the hard spring takes a while to break in, and that it sucks for non fighting games).
  • Sanwa JLW. no real flaws. Just has trouble hitting diagonals if you get the circular gate and it's mounting plate is incompatible with all other Jap sticks. It is compatible with american sticks though

Meh sticks. These sticks are still ok but you have way better choices.

  • Seimitsu LS-40. no real flaws. The microswitches just activate a bit too soon for most people's liking. They also don't really have a use outside of Neo Geo candy cabs as the LS-32 is just a better stick.
  • Seimitsu LS-56. Only flaw is that the pivot grinds.
  • Happ P360. Only real use is for Mahvul if you get a working one. Wico 360s are good for other fighters too.
  • Myoungshin Fanta. Like a Taeyoung but with lighter rubber and not as good. Don't be a pussy and just get the Taeyoung and break it in.
  • a few Crown sticks. Go with Taeyoung if you like Korean sticks.

Shitty sticks. avoid these sticks.

  • Seimitsu LS-55. Throw is way longer than any other Japanese joystick. Still usable but not a good choice.
  • Happ Super. No diagonals after like a week of play. Unless you need a stick for Pacman on a US cab and are too lazy to put a JLW in, then avoid.
  • Happ Comp. Happ ****ed up the Eurostick. Buy the spanish one and avoid the Happ shit
  • Happ Ultimate. Just don't use these. They suck. The only good thing about them is that their "quality" is consistent and you know what you are getting.
  • other Crown sticks. most crown sticks suck balls.
  • anything with leafswitches.

It's alive! Removed 2 end Hori buttons and plugged the holes, replaced 6 Hori push-buttons with Sanwa OBSF-30's and replaced the Hori start/select buttons with Sanwa OBSF-24's.

I also replaced the ball top, from white Sanwa to a limited edition white Sanwa MeshBall.

Please help. For a long time I have been desperately searching for HRAP3:SE without any luck. The original poster mentioned the difficulty in aquiring them. Does anyone have a lead on where I can purchase one?

Yea for sure, I like it how they marked up the HARP 3 (white) edition by an extra $60US on play-asia. Paying extra for the colour what a rip off
