It has come to my attention that if we sell so much as a sausage for 5c without the permission of the NT Dept of Health and Community Services, we can get into deep shoite.

Some of the Department's requirements for being allowed to sell sausages at our LANs including having bins, freezers, a tarpaulin for the floor, disposable gloves and so on.

Apparently this applies even though we are not an incorporated association and do not sell for profit.

So basically, this weekend, we will not be selling any sausages.

I will advise ASAP whether we will be giving away cooked sausages for free or whether there will be no BBQ at all.

Can you up the entry cost a bit and then just HAPPEN to give away free snags?

Not sure if thats a way around it... (although that means everyone must want them )

OD: no, the legislation covers those kinds of loopholes. It's very keen to catch everyone.

To avoid it, we'd need to raise everyone's fee by the same amount. Kind've puts a dent in the whole user-pays thing we liberals love.

I mean we'll look at it some more. We might emphasize Pizza instead in future.

So, to recap: We will not be selling snags for $1. We will be giving them away for free. We apologise for the confusion.

But yes. I Do believe that getting pizza's would be a much easier alternative, although a lot more expensive . Just gotta weigh up the odds

Well you know me, Mr Treasurer. I play the raconteur who says stuff like "My shipping company just dumped six billion beds in our warehouses! Mr Accountant says SELL SELL SELL!""
