Finally got past the cliff jump area after 6 hours gameplay and copious beers

Lan was smooth (inital setup hiccups) and the BBQ was good and free beers even better

Ill remember the jumper and trakydaks next time though BRRRRRRR

yes me too it was bloody cold and someone had set the aircon to 5 degrees!!!!! bloody hell. i even had a blanket and i was freezing. next time im bringing a big fluffy doona

Thanks everyone for coming.

It's great that everyone had such a great time. Over the last year we've really managed to refine our organisation of LANs, from the near-chaos of the first few to the smooth operation everyone enjoys today.

Looking to the future, there are a few things to note:

Firstly, we are planning to buy trestle tables, about 5 in total. Combined with tables already available on site this will give us capacity to have 30 places without needing to get dodgy tables from Building 24. Thanks btw to everyone who helped to carry them.

Secondly, regarding the airconditioning, the LAN Lord has decided that at the next LAN, the a/c thermostat will be off limits. It will be set at 23 degrees and left there for the whole time. This will stop the temperature from fluctuating from 30 degrees to 5 degrees seemingly at random!

Finally, we will probably move the TV into the next room at future lans, along with such consoles as are present. This will allow us to more efficiently fill the space with lanners, while a whole room is devoted to people enjoying console gaming.

As an aside, we cannot promise free beer for each LAN. Our general outlook is that the club should provide social events for members, and the BBQ at Freedom LANs should be considered as such. Where we can afford to, we'll continue to lay on the free beer. Nothing says "We lub j00" like free piss, after all. Please let us know if our providing a few beers at the BBQ is the sort of thing you would turn up for, because in that case it might be worth it for us to lay on a slab each time.
