Well yeah, if flavour doesn't concern you, I guess Bundy is fine...
I must admit, I like some below average sugar-packed mainstream spirits myself (Jack Daniels anyone?).

Seriously, I think its a case of some people like green grapes some like red grapes, they are both just grapes and neither side is wrong because it's their opinion.
I've tried lots of different rums and Bundy is still by far my favourite.

There are definate and obvious differences in standards and quality. I like Jack Daniels - that doesn't mean it's a good whiskey. There are some much better options available, some I really like (but can't afford), and others I personally don't like (but can still appreciate it's a better product). A lot of it has to do with palette development/age and simple prefference... taste is obviously very subjective, but the lines between good and bad aren't.
A big part of people enjoying a spirit is rarely the complexity or balance of the spirit-category's characteristics - which are delivered only when the right combination of high quality ingredients are used in the distilling process. Most of the time, it's just a bold un-balanced focus-flavour and a shit-load of sugar... you're basically drinking alchoholic cordial. It's like over-using salt in cooking; it makes tasteless options tasty.
