Restaurants in Melbourne

Someone recommend me something.

Going to Melb for a few days. Am going to take the Mrs. out, and am leaning towards either Ezards or the Rockpool (Probably the Rockpool for the steak ), or if there are any other recommendations for an upscale place to eat?

Also would love an authentic chinese restaurant (preferably with Peking Duck & Braised Tofu ) if anyone can recommend one Been told either The Flower Drum, or just go to Little Bourke St or something.

Flower drum has like a 3 month waiting list so good luck trying to get in... Its also SUPER expensive...

From what I've heard, Taxi at Fed Square is pretty good. But if it means anything to you and making your decision... Nobu is owned by Robert De Niro and is very upscale dining as well...

Bellisimo at the docklands is pretty nice, went there for xmas lunch, and was very tasty.
Italian Restaurant Melbourne, Bellissimo Cucina & Trattoria, Docklands Melbourne Australia

Another nice place is cookie in the city, more of a pub then a restaurant, but the food is really really nice.

Please wait...
Altho if you are looking for a fun night out, with food, check out Draculas. It's a 3 course meal and funny as show, and both times I've been, when I said I was from Darwin, I got free drinks, because they then make fun of the amount you have been drinking :P

I've heard that Fifteen is one of those good food good prices type places but not upmarket fine dining which I believe Seqo is seeking...

I've heard great things about Vu De Monde in Lt Collins. Its a degustation fine dining type experience.

Purple Sands is a great chinese restaurant in Hawthorn and not too expensive. Great Peking Duck ;D

Lemon Bistro is a kickass & cheap Thai restaurant on Little Bourke. I took Rec there when he was in Melbourne - he can vouch for the quality.

AVOID FLOWER DRUM Well below average food, Well above average price.

I'll recommend later with some peking duck and general menu restaurant recommendations later. I've got the business cards laying around somewhere, I'm really bad with the names.

Focusing around the CBD area, there's a few good ones along the Yarra opposite Flinders.

Draculas is awesome too.

Actually, thinking about it now, I went to another place when I was down there called stalactites, that was pretty good greek food, and the cocktail place across the road was sweet too :P

But, just suck it up and go to Draculas. It's way more fun then just going out to dinner, and the food is awesome (order the lamb).
