Homebrew Thread

Well I just put down my Hoegaarden style beer

1 x Can of Blackrock Malt Extract
2 x 500g bags of light malt
Coriander Seeds and Orange Rind boiled in water
Saflager yeast

(then an experiment of about 300g of honey in the water that is boiled)

I will ferment this for about a week, then i will rack it into a secondary keg for another fermentation and to remove most of the sediment. Then bottled and ready to drink about 2 weeks after that. This is all provided nothing goes wrong.

My ginger beer is almost ready to be bottled

I used a Blackrock kit

+ a yeast i can't remember but its a style that gives off fruity esters
500g of honey
500g of dextrose
500g of light malt
3 tablespoons of vanilla essence
1 tablespoon of cinnamon
5cm of ginger sliced

honey, essence, cinnamon and ginger is boiled then added to the keg with the blackrock malt / ginger tin and the dextrose and light malt.

Initial gravity was about 1.6 so hopefully it will be a ginger beer around 4-6% alcohol. Tasting it now, it should be bloody awesome. Although the thing is still fermenting 9 days later.

You'd best send a bottle to rec so we can get an unbiased opinion

Extra Dry, great? You're sadly mistaken. I'd call it a great session beer based on its price and how easy it is to drink - but definately not a great beer.

Ranked #1 beer and is beer number 42 on the site which actually is linked to the meaning of life. Therefore, you can conclude that TEDs is indeed the meaning to life.
For those that disagree, a pitch fork for ye eyes nay sayer!

wow you've got like super beer powers or something. when most people buy a slab of TEDs they get a case of shitty beer.

what happens when you buy a carton of amsterdams?

The problem with an Australian beer rating website is that most Australian beers are shit.

Try here instead... http://beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/839/3626

Its a beer for every occasion. Amsterdam is fine, and only 10 bucks more.
