McKenna (McK) Bourbon

whilst down in Katherine this weekend i noticed this new bourbon on the shelf of their local, so i thought i'd give it a shot.

i like it, seems to not be very strong; but had a real nice taste to it.
not the best mid-range bourbon i have tasted, but still better than most.

anyone else tried this yet?
and has anyone in darwin seen it for sale?

Fairly common in WA.
Not bad, definitely one to mix. In wine terms you would call it a decent guzzler.
IMO directly comparable to white label Beam.

Tastes about as good as any $30 bottle of bourbon, it's just a matter of personal preference imo. Personally i'm not a fan of jim beam, daniels is ok. I like this stuff better than them though.

The 9.0% cans by mckenna are pretty good though, smack a 4-pack of those before you go out and you'll be well drunk.

well considering it was only launched in Queensland last
August as a test environment, and that it was only released in N.S.W. last month, and S.A. and the N.T. etc this month; i'd be calling that pretty new.
It's still not readily available in most areas of Australia except for QLD.

and as for the price, it was Katherine. nuff said.

oh really, didn't realise it was only released in queensland that's pretty neat. and yeah, realised the price thing after i wrote it hence the edit.

but yeah, if you're lazy like i am and buy pre-mixed drinks try the cans they're not too bad.

they had a huge launch party in qld back in august apparently, its sposed to be lion-nathan's attempt at competing against foster's cougar

ah i'm not a fan of cougar at all. some places here have taken it on as the house bourbon cause it's cheap. doesn't taste too great imo.
