Home Brew B33r...
Anyhoo i'm just wondering if any GU peeps do home brewing of beer or other beverages.
I have purchased a coopers home brew kit and will attempt to create massive amounts of high octane tastey golden nectar. My 1st attempt was about 5 years ago and I failed miserably. Following instructions was secondary in my attempt to wring the most powah from the brew. Most of it sat for 2-3 years and got chucked.... it didn't get better with age. But now...... a new age has dawned....... THE BEER AGE!!!! BEHOLD MY CREATION... MAD DOG PALE LAGER 1x Coopers Original Lager Kit 1x 1kg Coopers Brewing Sugar 1x 1kg Coopers Dextrose 1x Dregs from Coopers Pale Ale stubbie 1x Brewers Yeast (as supplied in kit) http://www.users.on.net/~jasonandjac...b33r2thumb.jpg a. Mixed brewers sugar and dextrose in 2lts boiling water. http://www.users.on.net/~jasonandjac...b33r1thumb.jpg http://www.users.on.net/~jasonandjac...b33r3thumb.jpg b. Added Lager brew kit stirred well. http://www.users.on.net/~jasonandjac...b33r4thumb.jpg http://www.users.on.net/~jasonandjac...b33r5thumb.jpg c. Poured wort into fermentor. http://www.users.on.net/~jasonandjac...b33r6thumb.jpg d. Added water until 23lt. http://www.users.on.net/~jasonandjac...b33r7thumb.jpg e. Hydrometer reading = OG 1050 (estimated 8% alcohol content) http://www.users.on.net/~jasonandjac...b33r8thumb.jpg f. Added yeast and dregs of Pale Ale bottle. http://www.users.on.net/~jasonandjac...b33r9thumb.jpg g. Stood back and marvelled at my creation. http://www.users.on.net/~jasonandjac...33r10thumb.jpg I will be bottling in a few days and leave to age for 2 weeks before consuming... 30 tallies of 8% beer for australia day celebrations should be sufficent. Will update with taste test when wait is over.

Homebrew is the bomb monkey. Dad used to have a really nice system setup with a spear-keg sitting inside a fridge, with a C02 dispenser attatched to the front fridge door (so it was on tap!).
Craig - I tasted the second batch you did while I was at Fetty's and I thought it tasted pretty good man.
