Photography Excursion anybody?

Would anybody like to do a photography excusion on 31st of August?
Haven't decided on a place, but just putting it out there.
Suggestions for the day? Plan should be to go a bit out of Darwin at least I think. Not necessarily in the regular directions, but just outside of the norm (ie, not litchfield, not kakadu (too far for kakadu anyway)) but to still go out and see things.
Early morning start, or afternoon start.
Morning will likely give us myst if we get out early enough (that means basically a 6AM start, if you party animals can handle it) Afternoon is good for sunsets obviously. Mid day is not very good due to heat, and harsh lighting.
Equipment suggestions:
-SLR or DSLR camera (not necessary) though something with Manual controls all around will make it a much more exciting day.
-Tripod or at least a monopod.
-If you're shooting with SLR, a selection of your favourite lenses.
-remote camera release
-Food and water.
-Pending the time of day, aeroguard, and sun cream.
-A possitive attitude
-Film or memory cards, and possibly a spare battery.
