If you run Vista 64, install all the windows updates then install ReadyDriver 1.1 - It adds about 3 or 4 seconds to boot time but disables driver signing for you on boot by automatically selecting the option from the boot menu. It can be interrupted using F8 like normal. Its what I use since MS broke the registry hack to turn it off.

As for performance, 2GB to 4GB is a huge performance jump, especially in loading times, 4gb to 8gb on the other hand is just fluff and epeen.

One thing to be careful of, running 4 Modules will make it a little harder to overclock and some boards spit the dummy at 1T command rates when you use 4 chips.
