• Firaxis helming X-Com: Enemy Unknown remake

    Did the 90's just start happening all over again? Not only is the Jagged Alliance remake out next month but it has been revealed that Firaxis have been working on a remake of the classic X-Com: Enemy Unknown. No, not the similarly titled 50's-era FPS that's also in the works but another one with the honest-to-goodness global strategy and turn-based tactical combat we've all been secretly pining for!

      Firaxis is working on a strategy style XCOM.

      According to the article at GI, XCOM: Enemy Unknown is planned for release on the PC, Xbox 360, and Playstation 3. It will have destructible environments, a real-time strategic view with turn-based combat, and some sort of research or progression system for the player's own XCOM organization to tap into. It sounds like this is the actual sequel that fans have been demanding, and it could hit as early as Fall 2012.

      Well Firaxis have a better chance than most of getting it right.
      I still play XCOM: TFTD, it is my go to game between releases

      UFO Enemy Uknown is one of the greatest turn based games EVER! would hate to see them fuck this up :S
